Privacy Policy

Effective July 10, 2026

01

Your data stays on your device

Music, artwork, lyrics, listening history, library settings, and connection details are stored locally on your device.

02

iCloud syncs playlists only

When enabled, Cove syncs lightweight playlist data. Music files, artwork, lyrics, and library credentials are not uploaded.

03

No data collection servers

Cove does not use its own servers or third-party servers to collect, analyze, or store your usage data.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Cove apps for macOS and iOS and the Cove website. It explains how data is handled during music playback, library management, iCloud sync, and remote library connections.

2. Data is stored locally

Cove reads and stores music file paths, track information, artwork, lyrics, listening history, library settings, and remote library connection details on your device. This data is used to organize your library and play music. It is not uploaded to Cove servers.

3. iCloud sync

If you enable iCloud, Cove uses your iCloud account to sync lightweight playlist data. Music files, artwork, lyrics, listening history, and remote library credentials are not included in this sync.

Your Apple account manages iCloud data. You can disable Cove's iCloud access in system settings.

4. No usage data collection

Cove does not operate servers that collect user data and does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or behavior-tracking services. Cove does not sell or share your music or listening history, or use it for advertising.

5. Remote libraries you connect

When you connect WebDAV, OSS, or Navidrome, Cove accesses the service directly from your device. Requests do not pass through Cove servers, and Cove does not store the transferred content. The remote service remains subject to its own privacy policy.

6. Device permissions

Cove requests file, network, or media library access only when a feature requires it. You can review or revoke permissions in system settings, but the related feature may stop working.

7. Deletion and retention

Removing a library source deletes its library record from Cove on your device, not the original music files. Uninstalling Cove removes its local app data. Lightweight playlist data in iCloud can be managed through Apple.

8. Children's privacy

Cove does not collect personal data from children or other users. Contact us at the address below if you have a question about children's privacy.

9. Policy updates

If this policy changes, the updated text will be published on this page with a new effective date.

10. Contact
